FiNews – Sound Philosophy for the 21st Century

By December 23, 2010Fi News, Vocations

We present to you the philosophy students and – if Our Lady wills it – future priests of the order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate.  Our in-house formation begins with two years of philosophy in our house of studies in Rome followed by three years of theological studies in our house in Casino, Italy.  Currently in our house of studies in Rome there are friars from all over the globe: from the U.S., Italy, Canada, the Philippines, Nigeria, and Benin, respectively.  The subjects they’re studying this semester include Biblical Greek, History of Modern Philosophy, Franciscan Philosophy, “Gnoseologia” (the study of knowledge), Introduction to the Mystery of Salvation, General Ethics, Marian Spirituality, Theology of Religious Life, and the Story of the Missions – all of which are taught in Italian.  Please remember them in your prayers and pray that they remain faithful to their calling.  Fra Anthony, Fra Ephraim, Fra Josemaria, Fra Pio Maximillian, Fra Terrance, and Friar Philameno all send their best wishes for the Christmas season!
