For the 4th talk in our symposium "Mother of the Church" on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Archbishop Raymond Burke, the founder of the shrine and Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, gives a talk "Our Lady of Guadalupe: Mother of the Church". Abp. Burke talks on Mary as Mother of the Church in light of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe by examining the Nican Mopohua which is the most scholarly and earliest written account of the apparition composed from1540 to 1545 (very soon after the apparitions) by the Aztec noble Antonio Volariano. He then compares this to the theological reflections of St. Bonaventure on the nature of the Church and Our Lady's involvement in it.
Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium.
