“Considering the love of Jesus, on the one hand, my ingratitude; on the other, I would like to say to Jesus that if I cannot love Him, He, too, should stop loving me…only in this way does it seem to me to be less culpable. But if Jesus did not love me, what would become of me? I no longer loving Jesus, and Jesus no longer loving me! This is something too frightening for me, and therefore I always pray to Jesus to continue loving me, and He will think of me if I am not able to love Him as He deserves.”
