Homily #080611 ( 12min) Play - Fr Ignatius outlines the many obstacles to knowing God. These include the need to respond to God in a self-sacrificing way once we accept His existence and we are not always strong enough to do this and so we need God's help, including miracles. I think that you ,and likewise us, benefited far more from the boy being there than he did from you, although he did benefit as much as his disposition allowed.
This was God’s gift to you and as saint Francis would say , your chance at perfect joy.
And if you took it well in a Christian sense , as I’m sure you have , someone somewhere will reap the benefits.
