“A soul that loves God always desires to please Him, in every moment, with every thought, word and action, in all its works and with its very existence. When it has the opportunity to sacrifice some affection in order to give joy to God, it considers itself fortunate, because it has the possibility of giving proof of disinterested love. It is precisely for this reason that the Saints desired to make so many sacrifices, to endure so many crosses, because in doing so they demonstrated that their love was pure.” (SK #1303)
