Fr. Bonaventure preaches on St. Francis Xavier on the feast day of this great missionary priest. St. Francis was born in Spain in 1506, joined the Jesuits when they were just getting started under St. Ignatius of Loyola and then went on many Missionary Voyages?from 1541-1552 along the newly discovered sea routes to the far east. He expended himself with apostolic zeal having personally baptized 80,000 converts. Listen as Fr. Bonaventure explains that today we no longer need to go on long voyages because as John Paul II said even "Christian" countries are once again mission territory.?
