“The most important degrees of prayer are: vocal prayer, meditation and contemplation. In this last degree God sometimes draws the soul very close to Himself, in such a case, the soul, dazzled by an unworldly light and inflamed with love, enters into ecstasy, which has nothing in common with natural euphoria.
