Woman this is your son, in turn he said to the disciple, there is your mother and so Saint John summarizes for us in today's Gospel?the great feast we celebrate today, The Sorrows of Our Lady. We see very clearly that devotion to The Sorrows of Our Lady is rooted in apostolic times. It is during the height of the sorrow of the Blessed Virgin Mary that the true disciple gives himself to the mother.
