Sept 3 – Concecrate to the Immaculate without Restrictions

Ave Maria!

“The members of the Militia consecrate themselves to the Immaculate without any restrictions, in order that She may completely dispose of them as instruments for the work that She herself is accomplishing, that is to say, to combat against satan and to help souls in their sanctification.” (SK #1330)

    FATHER IGNATIUS.
ANY CHANCE YOU COULD OFFER AN EXPLANATION OF THESE DAILY STATEMENTS TO HELP WE UNINFORMED SOULS. MILITIA? “DISPOSE OF THEM AS IN INSTRUMENTS” SEEMS HARSH.

    THANK YOU.

    George,
Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be able to offer an explanation for every quote but I will try to respond to all inquiries. To answer your question, St. Maximilian often uses militaristic language to correspond to the “harsh” reality in which we find ourselves. “The life of man upon earth is a warfare” says Job (7:1). This kind of language is used by our Lord (Mt.11:12) and also by St. Paul (1Tm6:12;2Tm4:7). As for the term “instruments”, St. Maximilian uses this as an analogy. As the chisel makes no resistance in the hands of the sculptor, and so doing allows him to make a masterpiece, so we ought to be as docile in the hands of the Immaculate so that She may use us to perfectly perform Her work of salvation and sanctification of souls. Ave Maria!
