Homily #111106 ( 39min) Play – To understand “I Believe” one must understand the Church Militant. There are the good and there are the bad and there is a battle. Only Christ knows who are the “Good Catholics” and who the “Bad Catholics”. The problem in the Church today is a lack of understanding in “I Believe”. When you fall don’t wring your hands, but get up and continue toward your God.

Homily #101205 ( 20min) Play – On this Second Sunday in Advent Fr. Bonaventure preaches on the judgment of God when he comes again. This judgment will be based on how well we regard the first coming either by anticipating it if we lived before the incarnation or cherish it after. This desire of God to become united to man in the Incarnation is central to understand our purpose in the created order and the key to world peace and happiness in this life and eternal bliss in the after-life.

Homily #100801 ( 14min) Play – Fr Angelo preaches on the Gospel which today is the parable of the publican and the pharisee who pray in the Synagogue. Father gives the context of the parable which is the hypocrisy of the Pharisees who accused Jesus of breaking the sabbath but then broke it themselves by plotting His death on the the Sabbath. He compares this to the failures of people in authority today both in the Church and in society as a whole and how this causes cynicism against all authority especially in regard to fatherhood that is increasingly put down in today’s society. But cynicism is not the answer for we will be judged on our own merits and focusing on others’ faults as the Pharisee did in the parable will bring a similar judgment upon us.

He points out that Our Lord is very concerned about us and our salvation, extending His mercy despite our sinfulness. But the time for mercy is only during this life. Homily #100627 ( 15min) Play – In today’s Gospel Our Lord gives us a higher standard than is enjoined on us in the ten commandments that represent the natural law.
For He says:
…it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the judgment. But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother: Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say: Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Fr. Angelo thus preaches on the need to love our neighbor as Jesus has loved us, that is, selflessly even to giving our lives.

Homily #100416 ( 05min) Play – Fr Ignatius preaches on the blessings that we have in Pope Benedict, how he has been acclaimed as perhaps the greatest theologian pope in the history of the Church. His encyclical Caritas et Veritate is so sensible as a world plan for peace, social justice and prosperity that one wonders why he is being targeted by the global mass media. Father relates this to today’s Gospel:
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet. 15 Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
