Homily #150705n ( 13min) Play - Father first speaks of the Perpetual Virginity of Our Lady, showing that the "brothers and sisters" the Gospel passage speaks of were not fellow children of Mary, but that "brothers and sisters" is a Hebrewism used for describing relatives. Once he has clarified that, he comments on the humility of the hidden life of Our Lord, and how it scandalized the people from His hometown when He manifested who He was. They were expecting a mighty Messiah, a victor that would subject the Gentiles, but instead they got the carpenter, the Son of Mary. Father tells us that many of us are called to imitate Our Lord not in His public ministry, but in His hidden life. Let us embrace this vocation.
