Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Vices “When you are assailed by the vice of pride, say to yourself: what good have I within me that I have not received? And if I have received everything, why should I be proud? Oh! We would be senseless if were to glory in something that is not ours!” |
Homily #090429 ( Ave Maria! Mass readings |
Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Vices “Not wanting to submit one’s own judgment to that of others is a sign of little docility; it is a much too evident sign of secret pride. Take courage, then; avoid falling again and keep an eye out for this wretched vice, knowing that it displeases Jesus, because it is written that ‘God resists the proud, but to the humble He gives His grace’”. |

![]() ST. LOUIS–MARIE GRIGNION DE MONTFORT 1673 – 1716 PRAYER TO JESUS: O most loving Jesus, deign to let me pour forth my gratitude before Thee, for the grace Thou hast bestowed upon me in giving me to Thy holy Mother through the devotion of Holy Bondage, that she may be my advocate in the presence of Thy majesty and my support in my extreme misery. Alas, O Lord! I am so wretched that without this dear Mother I should be certainly lost. Yes, Mary is necessary for me at Thy side and everywhere that she may appease Thy just wrath, because I have so often offended Thee; that she may save me from the eternal punishment of Thy justice, which I deserve; that she may contemplate Thee, speak to Thee, pray to Thee, approach Thee and please Thee; that she may help me to save my soul and the souls of others; in short, Mary is necessary for me that I may always do Thy holy will and seek Thy greater glory in all things. |
Ave Maria! Sorry, no homily today. Ave Maria! Mass readings +++ |
Ave Maria! Having seen a brief history of “Faith Alone” Fr. Rumble begins to contrast this theory with Catholic teaching. His first step is to explain exactly what is meant by “justification.” Ave Maria! |
Ave Maria!– April’s Theme: Vices “To the crucifixion of the flesh is united the crucifixion of the vices and of concupiscence. Now, the vices are all sinful habits; the concupiscence is the passions. It is necessary to constantly mortify and crucify both one and the other so that they do not drive the flesh to sin: who limits himself only to mortification of the flesh is similar to that fool who builds without a foundation… |
Ave Maria! On April 21st 2009 Fr. Angelo gave two talks during the “Day With Mary” in England. Due to our remote mic dying, we have only one talk to offer you. Ave Maria! |

St. Gianna Molla
![]() Gianna Beretta Molla (1922-1962)
Gianna Beretta was born in Magenta (Milan) October 4, 1922. Already as a youth she willingly accepted the gift of faith and the clearly Christian education that she received from her excellent parents. As a result, she experienced life as a marvellous gift from God, had a strong faith in Providence and was convinced of the necessity and effectiveness of prayer. |
