Fr Dominic gives the homily at Griswold, CT, on Mar 13, 2026, on Jesus summarizing the Ten Commandments into loving God wholly and neighbor as self, calling for total allegiance aided by the Holy Spirit and exemplified by Mary.
Fr. Dominic explains how Jesus restates the Ten Commandments in two: love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. He stresses there is only one God, the creator of everything, so we must give Him our full worship, love, and being—interior and exterior. Loving neighbors means stepping out of ourselves, imagining their needs as our own, and habitually serving them. This requires great grace from the Holy Spirit's gifts like wisdom, understanding, and piety. We must pray to diminish love for the world and selfish passions, transforming our hearts to immerse fully in God, like Our Lady at the Annunciation, overshadowed by the Holy Trinity.
