Fr John Lawrence gives the homily at Bloomington, IN, on Jul 21, 2025, the feast of St. Lawrence of Brindisi, on how this saint and doctor of the Church joined the Capuchins, became a great preacher att he time of the counter reformation, was chaplin for the cursades against the invading Turks in Hungary, was elected superior of the Capuchins, traveling by foot many miles from friary to friary. He performed many miracles, including the curing of illnesses, and had many mystical experiences. His writings have been largely preserved, and these led the Church to make him a Doctor.
