Fr. Andre M. Feain gives the homily from Our Lady's Chapel, New Bedford, MA, for the Second Sunday of Easter (or Sunday of Divine Mercy), Apr 27, 2025, explaining today's solemnity of Divine Mercy. The Feast of Divine Mercy comes with a great opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence.

To dispose ourselves to God's mercy, we must move closer to Jesus, "the first and the last, the one who lives," as we hear in today's second reading from the Book of Revelation, which Father calls the "Book of the Eucharist." We can meet the same Jesus here and now, in Eucharistic Adoration. We can and should acquire the virtue of being in Jesus' presence, through the practice of Eucharistic Adoration. Let us acquire this virtue with the help of the Mother of Mercy, by preparing ourself for the encounter through the Sacrament of Mercy which is the sacrament of Reconciliation.
