Be Transfigured: Listen to Jesus, Follow Him to Glory – Mar 16 – Homily – Fr Maximilian W

 

Fr. Maximilian M. Warnisher gives the homily from Our Lady's Chapel, New Bedford, MA, for the Second Sunday of Lent (Mar 16, 2025), on the wisdom of the Transfiguration--what could be clearer than to heed the words of the Father: “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”

Just as the Transfiguration event was intended to bolster the faith of the Apostles before the extreme trial of the Crucifixion, the Church presents us in Lent with the reminder that our own suffering in this life, if we accept it and unite it with Christ's, is just a prelude to eternal glory with Him in the Resurrection to come.
