Fr. Bernard M. Salter gives the homily from Our Lady's Chapel, New Bedford, MA, for Saturday after Ash Wednesday (Mar 08, 2025), on the deeper significance of Matthew's response to Jesus' invitation.

Matthew had a firm will to pursue God's will for him. Likewise, we need to willfully respond to God's call to sanctification. To do so, we must humbly acknowledge our need of healing, and go to the divine physician. Otherwise, we put an obstacle in the way of Christ's desire to save us.
