Consent to God’s Will: Be Purified, Transformed, and Sent Out – Feb 08 – Homily – Fr Maximilian
Views 10
Fr. Maximilian M. Warnisher gives the homily from Our Lady's Chapel, New Bedford, MA, for the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time (on Feb 08, 2025), challenging the faithful to take example from the subjects in today's readings, to overcome one's feelings of inadequacy in order to become available like Isaiah, Paul, and Peter, to do God's will.
Drawing out the common thread in all of the three readings from today's Liturgy of the Word, Father points out how God prepares us for the Christian mission through purification, which transforms us and prepares us to be sent out, to enact God's will for the sanctification and salvation of souls--but we have to give our consent.
