Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN, on Jul 15, 2024, on St. Francis as God's musician, highlighting his use of music to express divine love and joy. This is a continuation of his series on Franciscan spirituality and the subsection, "Theology of Art," emphasizing the place of Art in Franciscan understanding and how it should lead us to God.

Music, a high form of expression, deeply influenced Francis, who used song to express his love for God. From his youth, Francis enjoyed music, and even after his conversion, he sang praises to God. Despite facing hardships, his singing brought joy and wonder. He encouraged his friars to use music to spread God's love. His famous "Canticle of Brother Sun" showcases his devotion. In suffering, Francis found comfort in divine music. His life, a blend of faith and art, reflected a gospel of love and music. Father encourages us to seek divine harmony, inspired by St. Francis and Our Lady.
