The Ordination of Friar Charbel Mary Francis Boustany, FI, to the priesthood, took place today, July 11th, St Benedict’s feast day, 2024, at 7 PM Sydney time, 5 AM EST time,
at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney, Australia. Deo gratias.
He was ordained along with Deacon Adrian Suyanto and Deacon Likeisone Tomiko of the Archdiocese of Sydney.

Mass begins, congregation rises
Procession – Over 120 priests and deacons. There was also a full congregation which included many nuns and brothers, as well as “one thousand of [Fra Charbel’s] Lebanese cousins” as Abp. Fisher quipped with a bit of exaggeration.

Fr. Ignatius Manfredonia, FI, head of our US Delegation, was present, along with Fr Charles Robinson, FI, who was ordained last year here in Bloomington, Indiana, and is here assisting Fr Charbel (group in the center) in his new priestly vestments along with his mother and father.
Four Bishops were present including the Archbishop of Sydney, Anthony Fisher, OP, who was the main celebrant, and ordaining bishop, along with Bps. Richard Umbers, Terry Brady, and Danny Meagher.
