Naboth refused to sell his vineyard to King Ahab because it was his family's inheritance from God. Jezebel had Naboth killed so Ahab could take the vineyard. God sent Elijah to condemn Ahab, showing that God judges the heart and not just actions. Ahab sold himself to sin, especially through his marriage to Jezebel. The Gospel calls us to love our enemies, pray for them, and seek their conversion, just as God does.
