Fr Terrance gave the homily at Bloomington, IN, on Apr 08, 2024, on how the principle message from the readings today on the Annunciation is the willingness to God's will and how following this will should delight us, as exemplified by Jesus and Mary.

Father delves into the profound significance of submitting to God's will. Central to today's readings is the refrain "Lord, I come to do your will," echoing across Psalm 40, the letter to the Hebrews, and the Gospel. This theme is beautifully illustrated through the words of King David in Psalm 40:8, Jesus Christ in Hebrews 10:7, and His teachings in John 6:38 and John 5:30 about selflessly fulfilling the Father's will. Additionally, Jesus' affirmation in Matthew 12:50 that those who do God's will are His closest kin is highlighted. Father also reflects on the Greek meaning of "Thelma," relating it to volition and the divine will's supreme rationality as taught by Blessed John Duns Scotus. This divine will is centered on glorifying God, making all of creation revolve around Jesus and, by extension, Mary, and our redemption through Christ's sacrifice. Emphasizing the glory of God and the fulfillment of His will as life's ultimate priorities, Father invites us to align our own priorities accordingly. He elucidates that Jesus' incarnation and Our Lady's consent to God's plan are ultimate acts of love and obedience to God's will, offering profound lessons for our spiritual journey. He concludes with a call to reflect Christ and Mary in our lives, challenging us to live out our Catholic faith through genuine love and sacrifice.
