Holy Saturday: “Hour of the Mother” – Mar 30 – Homily – Fr Alan
Views 191
On Holy Saturday (Mar 30, 2024), the Franciscans of the Immaculate observe a paraliturgical service dedicated to the "Hour of the Mother"; Fr Alan gives the homily at New Bedford, on the meaning and sense of the hour of the Mother, which begins with the "hour of Christ," the hour of his Passion. The Corredemptrix suffers with the Redeemer, her "passion" is the compassion to which the whole Church is called. In her alone, on the day after Christ's death on the cross, did the Church subsist; in her alone was the faith kept alive. This is the hour of Mary, in which the sorrow of his death is counterbalance by faith and hope in the Resurrection.
Ave Maria!
