Fr. Alan B. Maria Wharton gives the homily for Saturday of the Fourth Week of Lent (Mar 16, 2024), focusing on the different responses of Jeremiah and Jesus to the persecution they suffered. Juxtaposing the Scripture readings from Jeremiah and the Gospel, we see how Jesus elevated the Law and Prophets from the natural principle of justice to the theological virtue of charity, and its corollary, mercy.
