Christmas is Made Clear by Mary – Dec 25 – Homily – Fr Matthias

He likens her to a lens that helps us see Jesus more clearly, emphasizing that God chose to dwell among us through a family, highlighting the virginal marriage of Mary and Joseph. The shepherds, upon finding Jesus, first saw Mary and Joseph, underscoring Mary's importance in recognizing Jesus. As John Paul II teaches, our relationship with Jesus and the Father implies a relationship with Mary. Removing Mary from the picture of Christmas, the Nativity, and the Incarnation leads to an incomplete understanding of Jesus, who is the Son of God and also the Son of Mary.
