Does the Devil Hate Mary more than God? – Dec 30 – Homily – Fr Terrance

 

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN, on Dec 30, 2022, on how Satan hates the family and the Holy family in particular but especially Mary, perhaps to the point of hating her more than God. He starts with the Franciscan concept of the test that God gave to Satan and the angels that they be given a revelation of the incarnation and that they must one day all adore God as a man. This was not so hard to accept since he is still God, but then they were told that the mother of Christ would be raised above all angels, and the devil and the other angels who were proud could not accept that. Ever since then, the Devil had a great hatred and terror of Mary.
