3rd Commandment: Rest & Reverence – May 06 – Homily – Fr Terrance

 

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on May 06, 2022, on the 3rd Commandment and the need to have rest and reverence as we worship the Lord.

Why celebrate the sabbath on Sunday, because the apostles did so.

Taste of our eternal rest when we will worship God forever in heaven.

Attendance at Mass on Sunday is mandatory.

Not honoring God publicly is a form of denying him.

Any mortal sins in this regard require confession before receiving, (with some exceptions).

No particular work is forbidden but we are to do nothing that interferes with worship and reverence of God.

Also can do works of mercy, Sunday is even a good day for this.
