2nd Commandment: Honor His Name – May 03 – Homily – Fr Terrance

 

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on May 03, 2022, on the second commandment, honor God's name, and because of the beauty of His name.

Knowing His name is a great privilege and a part of knowing God and having intimacy with Him.

Be careful about making oaths in God's name or you could give Him a bad name.

Blasphemy is a rejection of the honor due to His name and is grave.

The difference between cursing and blasphemy, cursing is venial,  while blasphemy is grave.

Purgery and breaking an oath are related.

Also includes the name of Christianity and being a Christian and respecting the name of others.
