Views 404
The life of Bl. Mary Crescentia Hoess, Virgin, Third Order (1682-1744) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Apr 6. Mary was born in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, Germany. She had no dowry to enter the convent but the protestant mayor of the town was so impressed with her that he paid for it. She was treated poorly because of her poverty and her attacks from the devil were interpreted as her being a witch. Later her patience and virtue was recognized and she was made novice mistress and then superior of the convent. She was a well-respected spiritual director sought after by bishops and cardinals.
Reflection is on the divine gift of having joy in suffering.
