The Life of Bl. Mark of Montegallo, Confessor, First Order (1425 -1496) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Mar 21. Mark was born in Montegallo, Italy, and was a doctor who took care of the poor got married but he and his wife both determined to enter the convent. He became a missionary preacher throughout Italy, encouraging the wealthy to support the poor, and started credit unions to make this easier. The plague came and he preached repentance to bring it to an end.
Reflection is on acts of charity to our neighbors. Charity needs to be more than just words
must proceed from unselfish motives to be virtuous
Charity will bring great rewards when motivated by the love of God.
