Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Dec 27, 2021, on how the gospel of St John focuses on love and how this relates to humility and mercy, and highlights the need to fix ourselves before we point out the faults of others. He then gives a practical summary of how to examine ourselves to find our faults and ask Our Lord for help in improving ourselves. We must do violence to ourselves in this regard but this does not mean beating ourselves up. We should also make use of confession, prayer, good works and strive to replace bad habits with good habits.
