The Life of Bl. Mary Frances Schervier, Virgin, Third Order (1819-1876) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Dec 15. Frances was pious from her youth and looked after the poor but had trouble entering the convent as early as she wanted and so she started her own branch of the Franciscans to take care of the poor called the Poor of St Francis. She started in Germany established houses in the USA as well.

Reflection is on giving alms to the poor and how this is a source of blessings.
Blessing depends on the charity and generosity with which we give.
Blessings can occur in this life as well.
