As preparation for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on Dec 8th, we have read the encyclical, Ineffabilis Deus, during our Holy Hours in 5 segments. In this encyclical, Pope Pius IX declared the Immaculate Conception n 1854.  Part one covers:
