The Life of St. James of the March, Confessor, First Order (1391-1476) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Nov 28. St. James was known for his penance, fasting, preaching in many countries to packed crowds, with many conversions attributed to him.
He declined being made a bishop.

Reflection is on the power of the word of God as an occasion of grace
Not the word of man but God who has the power to make us fruitful
The heart must be prepared to produce good fruit from the seed of the word.
