The Life of Bl. Solanus Casey, Confessor, First Order (1870-1957) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Nov 3. Solanus Casey was born Barney Casey in Oakgrove Wisconsin, USA and after working as a laborer in several places, became a Franciscan Priest after much difficulty and was made a porter and sacristan at various Capuchin houses in the US. He was known for humility, miraculous healings, and giving sound council.
