The soul takes a break from the senses and retreats to God, with His help.

Beyond a human effort to calm down the mind

A gentle drawing by God into an inward recollection with Him. Hard to describe beyond this

Acquired versus Infused recollection

Acquired is simple prayer more ascetical, Infused is more mystical

Practice, council

Cannot start and should not stop until God wants

Should stop discoursive prayer when God draws us inward

Goal is communion with God, not Buhdist nothingness

Always persevere and facilitate this prayer
