The Life of Bl. Bernardin of Feltre, Confessor, First Order (1439-1494) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Sep 29. Bl. Bernardin was born in Feltre, Italy and when he entered the Franciscans became a promoter of peace and was a Missionary preacher, combating the vices of avarice and sensuality by promoting the bonfire of the vanities and promoted banks called Mounts of Piety (Monti di Pietà) that provided loans to the poor.
He also composed the Anima Christi prayer.

Reflection is on disinterested Charity which involves:
Love your neighbor as yourself
not to do Charity for the praises of men or some other gain
Need for good planning in order to promote the common good and not promote indolence
