The Stigmata of St. Francis of Assisi (1224) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Sep 17. It was an event in the life of St Francis when he was on a retreat on Mt. Alverna just two years before his death. An apparition of Christ Crucified with six wings appeared before him, setting his heart on fire, and the wounds of Christ were impressed on his hands, feet, and side.
Reflection is on looking up to the Cross. where Crist was wounded for our iniquities.
