The Life of Bl. Bonaventure of Barcelona, Confessor, First Order (d. 1684) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Sep 11. Bl. Bonaventure was widowed at a young age and joined the Franciscans as a lay brother and went to Italy near Rome at a house of strict observance of the Rule of St Francis. There his sanctity became well know and he was visited by many Church officials and even the pope.
Reflection is on the importance of the rule in a religious order, upon which the fruitfulness and sanctity of the friars rest.
