The Life of Bl. Vincent of Aquila, Confessor, First Order (d. 1504 ) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Aug 18. Bl. Vincent of Aquila did much fasting and penance but gave them up when commanded, practiced many virtues, and gave very good spiritual direction and even prophecy.

Reflection is on the value of a life of solitude following the calling of God in imitation of Christ, acquiring virtues, growing closer to God, and having the strength to stay recollected when we do interact with others.
