The Life of Bl. Novellon of Faenza, Confessor, Third Order (d. 1280) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Aug 15. Bl. Novellon of Faenza was a shoemaker and a penitent after a dissolute youth. He converted after a severe illness. He went on a pilgrimage and then worked hard for the support of the pour. He is the patron saint of shoemakers

Reflection is on considering the reality of death and how this helps us to see if our conduct is worthy. Such thoughts can not only help us to give up sin but also worldly goods and amend our lives in other ways.
