"The Life of St. Clare of Assisi, Virgin, Second Order (1194-1253) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Aug 11. St. Clare of Assisi was born into a wealthy family in Assisi. Even at a young age, she fed the poor. At age 18 when St. Francis preached in 1212 she entered under his tutelage to start the Poor Clares. Later her sister St. Agnes followed in her footsteps. They practiced zeal, penance, and prayer. St. Clare confronted the attacking Saracens with the Eucharist and stopped them.

Reflection is on how true beauty is from the virtues
