The Life of Bl. Peter of Mogliano, Confessor, First Order (1442-1490) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Jul 29. Bl. Peter of Mogliano was a lawyer who became a friar and a great preacher and missionary, who reconciled many enemies, promoting peace. He was attacked by the devil on his deathbed, but reading the passion of Christ according to the gospel of Matthew chased him away.
Reflection is on preserving peace, including the beauty of peacemaking in the sight of God and men, how it is an integral virtue to the Christian life that gives a foretaste of the peace of heaven, and how humility is the key to peace that counteracts the pride that leads to strife.
