The Life of Bl. Peter Cresci, Confessor, Third Order (d. 1323) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Jul 19. Bl. Peter Cresci was born in Foligno, Italy in a wealthy family and had a conversion from a dissolute life at about age 30 and joined the Third Order to do penance and feeding the poor. He grew in holiness and good reputation but had to defend himself against his former dissolute friends who were mad at him for no longer spending his money on them.
Reflection is on our life as a Pilgrimage. Our life is a voyage to our home in heaven, merely traveling through this world temporarily, and that we must strive to take the right road, the one that leads to heaven rather than the one that leads to hell. Keeping the goal in mind helps us to bear the crosses along the way to heaven.
