Why does Jesus Hide His Miracles?- Jul 18 – Homily – Fr Terrance

 

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Jul 18, 2020, on how Jesus on several occasions miraculously heals people but tells them not to tell anyone about it. Father gives six reasons for this.
1 Physical healing is not as important as spiritual
2 Set an example to not do things for praise.
3 He wants us to understand that greatness is found in humble service.
4 Jesus is not a sensationalist, wants us to avoid feelings-based religion that tends to avoid the cross.
5 He is meek and humble of heart, he wants the hearts of men, wants to be loved not feared.
6 When Jesus does something good for us we should share with others but not pry into others' spiritual life. Need to respect privacy.
