The lives and Martyrdom of Sts. John Jones & John Wall, Martyrs, First Order (d. 1598 & 1679) for the July 9th Franciscan Saint of the Day. During the Protestant persecution of the Church in England, they were condemned for being priests and celebrating the mass. Both were hung, drawn, and quartered.

Reflection is on professing the faith even in difficult times.
