The life of St. Gregory Grassi and Twenty-eight Companions, Martyrs, 1st & 3rd Orders (d.1900) for the July 8th Franciscan Saint of the Day. St. Gregory Grassi and his twenty-eight companions were martyred during the boxer rebellion in Taiyuan, China that had strong anti-Catholic sentiments. St. Gregory was from Italy and was the local bishop in Taiyuan.

Reflection is on the need to keep eternity in mind which gives us the power to face dangers.
