The Holy Spirit descends on Mary and the Apostles
Scripture: Acts 2:1-6, 38-41 – When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.
Meditation: Our Blessed Lady is Mother of the Church even from the earliest days. It was she who gave the Apostles the strength to await the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. It was she who shared events of the early life of Our Lord, her Son, so that all might have a glimpse of His life while with her for 30 years. It is she who is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit and by drawing closer to Mary, we come to better know the Most Holy Trinity for she draws us to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
