Avoid Occasions of Sin – Feb 19 – Homily – Fr Matthias

In the homily for Wednesday of the Sixth Week in Ordinary Time (Feb 19, 2020), Fr. Matthias offers a reflection on the Gospel (Mk 8:22-26). Father bases his comments on Fr. Fernandez’ observation that the blindness in the Gospel account of Jesus’ restoration of sight can very well symbolize spiritual ignorance and blindness to the danger of sin by which man is surrounded in our fallen world.

Christians must take care to be aware of places, persons, and activities which present temptations to sin, and to avoid such occasions of sin. Father offers insights and instruction for how Christians can overcome the spiritual blindness that plagues many Christians today.
