New Year, New Struggle, New Grace – Dec 30 – Homily – Fr Josemaria
Views 611
In the homily for the Sixth Day in the Octave of Christmas (Dec 30, 2019), Fr. Josemaria offers an end-of-the-year meditation, pointing out the primary concern of the Christian life, to become perfect in charity, which is another way of say: to become a saint. Father offers pointers on the examination of conscience suggested by the closing of one year and the beginning of the next. Three concrete steps from St. Ignatius: 1) put yourself in the presence of God, 2) in His presence examine your soul, 3) ask for the grace to better correspond with His graces. We should aim to "move forward" in charity, which is "never static" (cf. St. John of the Cross, St. Josemaria Escrivá).
Let us take this counsel to heart and resolve to better correspond with God's grace this coming year.
